Street, Sanitation, Vehicle Maintenance and Parks all operate under the umbrella of Public Works

Street

The Street Department personnel maintain all municipal streets. Applying road salt in freezing weather to constructing storm water drainage systems and mowing street right of way are only a few examples of the daily work load of this department.

Sanitation

The Sanitation Department personnel collect solid waste from each residence within the city weekly. Commercial collection is more frequent. Chipper service is operated on an as needed basis. Vehicle Maintenance

Vehicle Maintenance is responsible for the maintenance, servicing, repair and overhaul of machinery and vehicles. Current vehicle inventory consists of approximately 50 vehicles as well as heavy and light equipment.

Parks

The Waverly Municipal Park is known as Asbury Park. It consist on three (3) picnic shelters, walking trails, community built playground named Grand Fun Alley, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a swimming pool. The construction of a childs with special needs playground and restroom facilities are complete. Park shelter reservations may be made by personal appearance at Waverly City Hall.
